One of our primary objectives, which informs many of our farming practices, is to develop rich, verdant soils on our farm.
Did you know that in a teaspoon of healthy soil there are more microbes than there are humans on the planet? Those microbes feed the plants that have roots in that soil, and vice versa. The plants and microbes in the soil actually communicate with each other about which nutrients are needed for the plants to grow strong and healthy - and delicious.
The Why:
If we work with nature to add life back into our soil, then we can help develop soil that will grow nutritious, delicious food now and for generations to come. We think of it as a savings account for our children's children and beyond.
